Cheddar Pear Pie Recipe
Cheddar Pear Pie
Unexpected and drool worthy
This cheddar pear pie is straight from a farmhouse kitchen. Ripe, juicy pears meet sharp farmhouse cheddar. It’s sweet, savory, and a little unexpected. Simple ingredients, honest flavors, and a pie that tastes like home. You can tuck it into a classic crust, or build it more like a crumble the way I have here—whichever brings you joy.
Ingredients
Topping
2 cups flour
2 sticks unsalted butter | melted
1 cup sugar
2 cup cheddar cheese | cut into small cubes
pinch of salt
Filling
6 cups pears | sliced or cubed
1/2 cup sugar
splash of lemon juice
3 tablespoons corn starch
a pinch of cardamom
Instructions
Step One
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Step Two
In two a large bowl mix together all of the ingredients for the topping. In another bowl mix together all of the ingredients for the filling.
Step Three
Butter the sides and bottom of your pie pan. Put in the filling and then layer the crust topping on top.
Step Four
Bake for 40 minutes. Check at 20 minutes if you should cover the pie with a sheet of alumimun to prevent the top from burning.
Step Five
Remove from the oven. Let cool. Enjoy.
