What This Campaign Is
Blue Heron Farm is launching a monthly Kindness Campaign to honor the people who make our valley a better place. These are the helpers, the steady hands, the quiet supporters, and the folks who show up with open hearts. Some actions are big. Some are small but continuous. All of them matter.
Our goal is simple. Lift people up. Celebrate kindness.
Where This Happens
All nominations and announcements will take place on our Instagram page. This keeps the campaign easy to access and lets the whole community join in. Follow along and take part at @theblueheronproject.
Who Can Be Nominated
Anyone living from Mammoth down to Olancha. Ages 18 and older. All roles. Neighbors, teachers, medical staff, volunteers, teens, elders, parents, coaches, or someone who simply shows kindness in the everyday rhythm of life.
Nomination Guidelines
Nominations should be genuine and rooted in kindness, service, or community care. Please make sure the person you nominate would be comfortable being recognized publicly if selected. If you nominate someone who does not use Instagram, that is completely fine, but if they are selected I will reach out to you to find a way to contact them. We welcome nominations from all backgrounds, traditions, and experiences. Kindness belongs to everyone.
How Nominations Work
On the last Friday of each month, we will post a call for nominations on Instagram.
To nominate someone:
Comment on the Instagram post that calls for nominations and tag the person.
With the tag write a sentence or two explaining why this person deserves recognition. Share how their action made a difference in your life or in the community.
Every nomination will be read with care. There is no cost to participate.
How the Winner Is Chosen
This is not a popularity contest. There are no votes or likes involved. We read the stories and select one person whose kindness shines in a special way that month.
Announcement and Prize
On the first Friday of every month, we will announce the winner on Instagram.
We will contact them directly to pick up a small gift from the farm (valued around twenty dollars) or in some circumstance might be able to deliver. Depending on the time of year, the gift may include:
Fresh fruit from the orchard
Fresh vegetables from the field
a mix of jams or dried fruit
a small gift card to the farm stand
Each gift reflects what is growing or available at the farm that month, keeping the campaign connected to the land and to the seasons. With permission, we will share a photo of the winner receiving their goodies.
Why We Are Doing This
Kindness strengthens communities. It creates connection, pride, and a shared sense of responsibility. We want folks who give their time, energy, and care to feel seen. We want to encourage the good that already exists and help it grow.

Can I nominate more than one person? Yes.
Can I nominate someone who does not use Instagram? Yes, but if they are selected we will need a way to contact them.
Do I need a long story? No. Just a sentence or two is perfect.
Can someone win more than once? Winners are limited to one recognition per calendar year.
